  • Are There Hotels or Lodging At The Mt. Baker Ski Area?

The short answer is no, there is no lodging up at the Mt. Baker Ski Area. The closest place you can stay is the town of Glacier which is very small. Glacier is about 30 minutes from the ski area. There are only 3 gated communities in the town of Glacier, those are Mt Baker Rim, Snowline, and Snowater (a condo unit community). These three communities hold most of the lodging for the Mt. Baker Ski Area. There are very few other scatters homes nearby that can be rented, and there is a 4th community back down the highway further away called Glacier Springs which can add 15 more minutes to your already early start to get fresh pow, and it has no community snow plowing, so the roads in that community can be treacherous at times.
Snowline, Snowater, and Mt. Baker Rim communities are your closest lodging option for the Mt. Baker Ski Area and the entrances to them all are less than a minute apart. All three communities have on site plowing service, and all of our homes are located in these 3 communities. We also own our own plow and start plowing early each day when there is snow, and we will plow all day long if needed. As long as it’s snowing we keep going.

  • Is The Mt. Baker/ Snoqualmie National Forest Dog Friendly?

We took a little stroll along the lower section of the Bagley Lakes trail last week with our furry family member Layla. This whole area is dog friendly. The weather was a bit cloudy but the views were still amazing. Our pup enjoyed playing in the water and the wildflowers were blooming all over. Did you know that unlike many National Parks, the Mt. Baker Snoqualmie National Forest, and the Artist Point viewing and hiking area are dog friendly? There is one hike up towards Chimney (Table Mountain) which does not allow dogs due to its cliffs and loose ground, but there are many other amazing hikes all over this area that are dog friendly.

  • Wild Strawberries at Mt. Baker

One thing we love about summers in the Mt. Baker area is all the wild berries. We found this patch of super sweet, wild strawberries in Silver Lake Park. Silver Lake Park is a beautiful place for paddle boarding, hiking little trails, enjoying mountain views, and of course enjoying wild sweet berries. Artist Point is also a lovely place to get some wild berries closer to fall.

  • When Will Artist Point Open For The 2025 Summer?

Are you excited for Artist Point to open for the 2025 summer season? We can’t wait either!
We took a drive up this last weekend to check out the progress. The Wa State DOT has been working hard to clear the way. As of Sunday June 1st the road was already completely cleared all the way to “Grandma’s” visitor center. Lots of work has been done up higher on the road as well. While we don’t have an exact opening date as of yet, it won’t be long, so start making your summer plans while you can. Our summer calendars are booking up early this year. We already have one home which only has one summer weekend left available to book on September 5th, so get your preferred house booked before it’s too late! They don’t last long!
