The Mt. Baker Ski Area is finally ready to open for the season, we are just waiting for the DOT to finish up the last bit of highway repairs before the road is officially opened to the public. While it is currently passable it is “closed” and they are asking everyone to respect the closed signs to the ski area so they can complete the repairs without hindrance. It is estimated the repairs may be completed by tomorrow (Friday) and the ski area will be open Saturday for pass-holder opening day, and Sunday for the general public. With over 50” of snow currently and the snow still coming down and forecasted we should have a decent snowpack for opening day.
