  • Is The Mt. Baker/ Snoqualmie National Forest Dog Friendly?

We took a little stroll along the lower section of the Bagley Lakes trail last week with our furry family member Layla. This whole area is dog friendly. The weather was a bit cloudy but the views were still amazing. Our pup enjoyed playing in the water and the wildflowers were blooming all over. Did you know that unlike many National Parks, the Mt. Baker Snoqualmie National Forest, and the Artist Point viewing and hiking area are dog friendly? There is one hike up towards Chimney (Table Mountain) which does not allow dogs due to its cliffs and loose ground, but there are many other amazing hikes all over this area that are dog friendly.

  • Wild Strawberries at Mt. Baker

One thing we love about summers in the Mt. Baker area is all the wild berries. We found this patch of super sweet, wild strawberries in Silver Lake Park. Silver Lake Park is a beautiful place for paddle boarding, hiking little trails, enjoying mountain views, and of course enjoying wild sweet berries. Artist Point is also a lovely place to get some wild berries closer to fall.

  • Early Summer Hiking Near Mt. Baker/ Artist Point

In early summer, many hiking trails in the Mt. Baker area still have some snow, but there are lovely walks you can do all year round like this one pictured. This beautiful trail meanders through a field of flowers with mountain view’s and crosses the road into Silver Lake Park to connect with those trails. It’s dog friendly and passes by Silver Lake.
